- Spain contributes 28,700 visitors, a 22.7% increase compared to 2024.
The Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO) has reported that 3,896,300 international visitors arrived in the country in October 2025, representing an increase of 17.6% compared to the same month last year and setting a new record for the month of October, exceeding the 2024 figure by more than 580,000 arrivals.
The increase was driven by the start of the autumn season, which traditionally attracts travellers from Europe, North America, Oceania and the Middle East, as well as by the greater availability of airline seats and the effect of several holiday periods in East Asian countries. In total, 13 markets recorded their best figures for the month of October, including South Korea, Taiwan, the United States, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
In the case of Spain, 28,700 visitors travelled to Japan in October, representing an increase of 22.7% compared to 2024 and setting a record high for this month. The diversification of routes with stopovers in Asia and the Middle East, together with the consolidation of Spanish visitors’ interest in cultural and nature destinations in Japan, have been key factors in this growth.
