The Higuerón Hotel 5* Curio Collection by Hilton permanently exhibits a very diverse collection of works of art by masters such as Enrique Brinkmann, some of whose works hang on the walls of the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA) and the Albertina in Vienna, the famous art museum located in a former Habsburg palace in the Austrian capital; Lita Cabellut, internationally renowned painter, sculptor, photographer and poet; the artist Francisco Leiro, one of Spain’s greatest sculptors and a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando; Pablo Rodríguez Guy, a Spanish painter, engraver and sculptor whose works have been exhibited internationally; and Antoni Tàpies, one of the most prominent creators of the 20th century, among other renowned artists.
The work Dama del Chicle by Gerard Mas, the Self-Portrait by Paco Pepe Posada, and the Graffiti del Primer umbral by Malaga-based urban artist Darko leave no one indifferent, nor does the painting of singer-songwriter Camarón de la Isla. All of these and many more, totalling over four hundred exquisite works, are open to visitors, and the best way to see them is on one of the guided tours organised by the hotel itself.

Lita Cabellut
Spanish multidisciplinary artist who works with oil on canvas, drawings on paper, sculpture, photography, poetry, visual poems and videos. From a humble background, she was raised in Barcelona but has lived in The Hague since the age of 19. Renowned for her paintings, she works with large canvases using a characteristic contemporary variation of the fresco technique.
Francisco Leiro
Spanish painter and sculptor. He began his artistic education at the School of Arts and Crafts in Santiago de Compostela, completing it at the School of Fine Arts in Madrid. He represented Spain at the São Paulo Art Biennial in 1985. Since 1986, he has exhibited regularly at ARCO, Madrid. He moved to New York in 1988, where he began working for the Marlborough Gallery.
Enrique Brinkmann
Spanish painter and senator during the Constituent Legislature for the Democratic Senate group. He organized his first exhibition by himself in 1957 in his native city. He carries out works of paintings as well as engravings and drawings, and is a teacher in the Royal Mint of Spain in Madrid. His works are part of important institutions and museums such as the MOMA in New York. He has held solo exhibitions in countries such as Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and the United States, as well as in Spain.
Gerard Mas
Sculptor from Barcelona. He studied at the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Trades in Barcelona “Llotja”. He is specialised in sculpture and stone carving. 1998-2001. Graduated as a curator and restorer of sculptures at the “Escola Superior de Conservació i Restauració de Béns Culturals de Catalunya”.
Suso de Marcos
Based in Malaga since 1979, he is a Artistic Carving professor at Málaga School of Arts and Crafts, as well as a full member of the Sculpture Section of the San Telmo Royal Academy of Arts. Suso is the author of an infinite number of contemporary works. He has held numerous individual and collective exhibitions, and his artwork can be seen in museums, institutions, educational centres and also in public places: Fosforito or Miguel de Molina.
Manuel Rivera
Spanish painter and founding member of El Paso Group, a group that represented a revolutionary change in post-war Spanish painting. He began painting based on figurative art, especially portraits, and this led to abstract paintings using wire-netting as a support. The optical vibration produced by his metallic canvases have related his work being to Op and kinetic art.
David Moreno
Sculptor born in Barcelona. He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, nationally and internationally, in cities such as Barcelona, Lisbon and Berlin. His work is currently present in several private collections. David Moreno’s work is immersed in architectural references of disruptive and phantasmagorical poetics.
José María Sicilia
In 1982, he exhibited for the first time at the gallery Trans/Form, his first pieces have an expressionist tendency. In 1984, he opened his first solo exhibition in Spain, becoming one of the most prestigious young Spanish artists. In 1989, he received the National Fine Art Award from the Spanish Ministry of Culture. His work is represented in museums such as Reina Sofía Museum, MOMA and Guggenheim Museum in New York. In 2015, he was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts.
Paco Pepe Posada
Spanish artist who alternates painting, drawing, sculpture and installation, sometimes within the same piece. In his work, matter is sedimented in different levels and layers in which he traces signs and slight geometry, adapting to the most diverse supports and using resources such as tension, transformation and counter position of materials. Since the late 1980s, he has participated in more than 40 exhibitions, both solo and collective.
Rogerio Timoteo
From an early age, he was interested in art, but it wasn’t until he met Mestre Anjos Teixeira,whose pupil he was for five years, that he was introduced into the world of sculpture. His most commonly used material is marble. However, he likes to include new materials such as bronze, iron or resin. With more than 40 individual exhibitions and over 300 abroad.
Antoni Tàpies
Spanish painter, sculptor and art theorist. One of the most outstanding Spanish artists of the 20th century. The work of the Catalan artist has a study and conservation centre at the Fundación Antoni Tàpies in Barcelona. The author of a style of his own, avant-garde art of the 20th century, combining tradition and innovation in an abstract style full of symbolism. King Juan Carlos I awarded him the title of Marquis of Tapies on 9 April 2010.
Pablo Rodríguez Guy
Spanish painter, engraver and sculptor whose art pieces have been exhibited internationally, in Germany, France, United States, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Iceland, Netherlands, Portugal, Canada, Cuba, Japan and Taiwan. He describes most of his compositions as “abstract emotional landscapes”, balanced and harmonious. Rodríguez Guy uses pigments, sands, recycled paper, acrylics, oils, his own photographs and small objects he finds. He mainly uses wood in his artwork.
Gino Hollander
Based in Pizarra (Málaga), Gino Hollander began painting in 1960, at a time when acrylic painting was emerging, being one of the first to explore its possibilities. His life experience includes his participation in the battles of the Second World War, with the tenth mountain division in northern Italy. The final result is pure emotion. You either love it or hate it, it is hard to remain neutral.
Darko
This self-taught artist started painting graffiti in 1998, influenced by what he saw on the walls of the train tracks when he travelled to Malaga. He began to exhibit regularly in 2008 in a more underground way and from 2012 he entered the gallery circuit, exhibiting internationally in group exhibitions at Neurotitan (Berlin), Fundación Cini (Valencia), Matadero (Madrid) and CAC Málaga, among others.
ElAlfil
Urban artist from Malaga, considered one of the most recognised artists in the Costa del Sol. He has participated in several Projects alongside Malaga’s city council to embellish the Andalusian city. Currently, he continues to carry out urban projects that involve graffiti and his passion as a graphic and web designer.
Robin Chiang
American architect and professor at UC Berkeley. His projects have won several design awards, including the Warm Springs BART station, which won the California Transportation Foundation (CTF) Project of the Year Award. Robin Chiang was part of the creation of Higuerón Hotel, contributing his ideas and creative concepts.
Óscar Casla
He is an architect born in San Sebastián, who was the creator and founder of the brand “Cállate la boca!”. His drawings have been portrayed in a wide variety of objects. Óscar Casla has collaborated with dozens of companies and institutions carrying out his designs for various events such as (Citröen, Cola Cao, Bic, etc…). In 1999 and 2000 he collaborated on various projects with John Cusimano.
Lalone
llustrator and graffiti artist, he defines himself as 95% self-taught. Lalone is considered one of the greatest representatives of Malaga’s urban culture, being the winner of the National Graffiti League. Among his works is one of the 10 best graffiti in the world in 2021.
