JAPAN EXCEEDS 3.5 MILLION VISITORS IN NOVEMBER AND ALREADY SURPASSES THE ANNUAL MAXIMUM FOR 2024

  • Spain contributes 24,200 visitors, an increase of 28.7% compared to 2024.

The Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO) has reported that 3,518,000 international visitors arrived in the country in November 2025, representing an increase of 10.4% over the same month last year. With this result, Japan has reached a cumulative total of 39,065,600 visitors between January and November, already surpassing the historical annual record set in 2024.

The strong performance during the month was driven by the final phase of the autumn season, a period of high demand, especially in the European, North American, Oceanic and Middle Eastern markets, as well as by increased air connectivity and the coincidence of public holidays and school holidays in different countries. In total, 19 markets recorded their best ever figures for a month of November, including South Korea, the United States, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, and 17 markets have already reached historic annual highs in the year to date.

In the case of Spain, 24,200 travellers visited Japan in November, representing a 28.7% increase compared to 2024 and setting a new record for this month. The diversification of routes with stopovers in Asia and the Middle East, together with the consolidation of Spanish travellers’ interest in culture, nature and lesser-known destinations in Japan, have been key factors in this positive development.
