As Wet Wet Wet said: love is everywhere. And surely, to a large extent, in the best cuisine. For many, celebrating love means gathering around a good table, as a couple, and sharing an unforgettable dinner or a unique lunch. This year, KŌ by 99 Sushi Bar is celebrating its first 14th of February in style. It is doing so with a special Valentine’s Day menu (€99 per person), available throughout the most romantic weekend of the year (specifically, from Friday 13th February at lunchtime until Sunday 15th February in the evening). It is a veritable festival, with eleven courses featuring the best dishes from this fabulous Japanese restaurant. All this, with a two-hour open bar of soft drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks and water), a welcome glass of Louis Roederer champagne and a cocktail to celebrate love. Without a doubt, KŌ by 99 Sushi Bar’s offering is one of the most original and appetising in the capital for lovers seeking originality and carefully crafted cuisine. And who also need a little flexibility in their schedules.
High-end Japanese cuisine for a menu full of sentiment
The kitchen team at KŌ by 99 Sushi Bar has carefully designed the menu for the most romantic day of the year. It all starts with a toast to Cupid with a glass of Louis Roederer, followed by a fun appetiser: tempura popcorn. This is followed by an exquisite caviar hosomaki. Carpaccio is a must, specifically one of the house’s greatest hits: smoked hamachi (yellowtail). The feast continues with seasonal mushroom gyozas, which are especially tasty. Of course, tiger prawn tempura, one of the emblems of Grupo Bambú, creator of this iconic space, is also on the menu. Next, the nigiri: sea urchin butter, flambéed salmon and foie gras and tuna zuke. The sushi selection is rounded off with crispy rice maki, a real delight. And so we come to the main course, half a rib of A8 wagyu beef, the highest quality available.
The entire menu includes a two-hour pairing of soft drinks, consisting of water, soft drinks, beer and wine, and also ends with a cocktail created ad hoc by the bartenders of this temple of good drinking. It is their Valentine’s Day cocktail. To add a sweet finishing touch, Noam González and his team have prepared a special dessert to celebrate the sweetest kind of love. In addition, the restaurant’s sommelier team will be offering diners bottles of Louis Roederer at a special price of €99 during these days. To toast love as it deserves.
