THIS IS KABUKI MADRID’S EXCLUSIVE VALENTINE’S DAY BRUNCH: FOUR COURSES WITH CHOCOLATE AS THE COMMON THREAD

  • Inspired by honmei choko, the Japanese Valentine’s Day chocolate ritual, cocoa is the common thread running through the entire experience designed by chef Alejandro Durán.

  • This sensational brunch will be available on 14 and 15 February from 12 noon to 3 pm.

Kabuki Madrid surprises with a special Valentine’s Day brunch structured in four acts, in which chocolate acts as the common thread throughout the experience. From the first courses to dessert, cocoa accompanies each dish with precision, integrating with savoury dishes, stocks and Japanese techniques developed by chef Alejandro Durán.

Crispy prawns with peanuts, chilli jam sauce and cocoa

On Japanese Valentine’s Day, chocolate becomes a language loaded with meaning, known as honmei choko, which women give to their partners to express affection, respect and gratitude in a precise and conscious way. Based on this tradition, Kabuki Madrid presents an exclusive offer for the weekend of 14th and 15th February, available from 12:00 to 15:00, in which cocoa is integrated with the technique, balance of flavours and precision of contemporary Japanese cuisine.

The experience begins with Sakizuke, the opening act, a crispy ebi dumpling with prawns, peanuts, chilli jam and cocoa; and continues with Otsukuri, the second act featuring three surprising dishes such as pa amb tomaquet-style tuna belly, gyutataki with ponzu and confit garlic, and sea bass nigiri with miso and chocolate.

The centrepiece of Kabuki Madrid’s brunch is undoubtedly the chapter dedicated to sushi, the most eagerly awaited and desired part of the experience. Diners can choose from several carefully crafted options. From Age Shari To Kinoko, a casserole of mushrooms and fried sushi rice with sukiyaki sauce, combining texture and umami flavour in every bite; to the Sushi Selection (6 pieces) offering a journey through flavours and techniques: Nigiri Akami Swicy, Nigiri Chutoro Dijon, Nigiri Salmon Aburi, Sea Bass Nigiri with miso and chocolate, Nigiri of matured sirloin in mole and Gunkan Egg Benedictine, where chocolate is subtly integrated to surprise without altering the balance.
