- Mitsubishi Spain has added a new trim level to the ASX and Grandis models for their 180 HEV engine, thereby improving access to the ECO label.
- The Motion trim level reduces the entry price and brings the advantages of this environmental distinction to a greater number of customers.
The ASX 180 HEV Motion is now available from £26,600, while the Grandis 180 HEV Motion, in a higher segment, is available from £29,400. Both come with the brand’s commercial discount and an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty, which also covers the traction battery.
The ASX and Grandis’ fully hybrid system with a combined power output of 116 kW (160 hp) integrates six key components: a naturally aspirated 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 80 kW (110 hp), a 36 kW (50 hp) main electric motor, a 15 kW (20 hp) secondary electric motor, a 1.4 kWh lithium-ion traction battery, an electronic power control unit, and an intelligent multi-mode automatic transmission.
This configuration allows up to 80% of urban driving to be done in all-electric mode, significantly reducing noise and emissions while improving comfort. Intelligent energy management ensures high levels of kinetic energy recovery during braking and deceleration, storing energy in the high-voltage battery for later use.
The Motion trim stands out for its comprehensive level of equipment. It features a 26.4 cm (10.4″) infotainment system and full LED headlights, heated exterior mirrors, rear view camera with rear parking sensors, forward collision mitigation system, multi-collision braking system, lane departure warning system, lane keeping system, cruise control with limiter, driver attention monitoring system and automatic high beam activation system, among others.
