CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR THE 5TH ARCHILETRAS LANGUAGE AWARDS

The fifth edition of the Archiletras Language Awards is now underway.

The deadline for submitting nominations via this online form is Monday, 27 April. The full rules can be found here.

The awards are organised to recognise, distinguish, celebrate and honour individuals, groups, organisations, institutions, etc. that have distinguished themselves through their merits in the promotion, support, research, development, etc. of Spanish, in any of its varieties and dialects, or of some of the other languages in contact with Spanish in any of its territorial areas.

In this fifth edition, the Archiletras Language Awards are being held under the Honorary Presidency of His Majesty the King, as in the second, third and fourth editions.

The awards do not have a cash prize and consist of an object designed specifically for the occasion, a trophy by Barcelona-based designer and illustrator Javier Jaén. The scope of the awards is global, not just Spanish.

These are the ten categories:

  • Award for research or innovation.
  • Award for initiative in the field of education.
  • Award for dissemination.
  • Award for professional performance.
  • Voice of the year.
  • Publication of the year.
  • Institution of the year.
  • Award for linguistic initiative in the public sphere.
  • Award for linguistic initiative in the private sphere.
  • Special Jury Prize.

A jury composed of individuals with proven professional experience in the field of culture and the language and literature industries will be responsible for deciding the winners in each category.

The awards will be presented next June at a public ceremony attended by personalities from the worlds of culture, politics, economics and society.
