Toyota Spain announces the arrival of the new Hilux BEV, the 100% battery-electric version of the legendary pick-up. With this launch, the brand reinforces its multi-technology strategy by expanding the Hilux range, which already includes diesel and 48V mild hybrid versions, offering customers a variety of mobility solutions tailored to their needs.
With the new Hilux BEV, Toyota combines the model’s DNA—robustness, quality, reliability and durability—with advancements in design, digitalisation, safety and comfort, whilst maintaining the off-road capabilities that have made the Hilux a benchmark in its segment.
Battery and safety
The Toyota Hilux BEV is equipped with two electric motors delivering a combined output of 144 kW (196 hp), powered by a 59.2 kWh lithium-ion battery. The range is 255 km in the WLTP combined cycle and can reach up to 385 km in urban driving.
The battery is housed between the frame rails, which protects it from side impacts. Furthermore, the underside features a subframe and a protective plate that help prevent damage in the event of an impact.
The Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) system now includes five driving modes and incorporates a new cross-bridge mode, which optimises vehicle control on steep terrain, maintaining traction even when one of the wheels loses grip.
The Hilux BEV also features the latest Toyota Assist systems and the third generation of Toyota Safety Sense, with advanced active safety and driver assistance features.
The exterior design has evolved whilst retaining the concept of “robustness and agility”, featuring a closed-off front grille, new integrated side and rear steps to facilitate access to the load bed, and 17-inch aluminium wheels.
Inside, the Hilux BEV offers a more digitalised and connected environment, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch multimedia screen featuring Toyota Smart Connect. It also includes a multifunction steering wheel, USB-C ports and wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Range and trim levels
The Toyota Hilux BEV will be available exclusively as a Double Cab and in two trim levels: GX, as the entry-level version, and VX, with a higher level of comfort and technology features.
The colour range includes Thunder Grey, Classic White and Iceberg Pearl White, with fabric or synthetic leather upholstery depending on the trim level.

Let's Go Beyond by Toyota
Toyota, through its Toyota and Lexus brands, is a global leader in the sale of electrified models, with over 25 million electrified cars sold worldwide and more than half a million units in Spain since 1997. Toyota’s electrification roadmap, with its sights set on a CO2-free society, began over 25 years ago with the advent of hybrid technology, and we have been working towards that goal ever since. This demonstrates the brand’s commitment to helping achieve sustainable mobility through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) to help actively combat climate change, and a reduction in emissions of polluting gases (NOx and particulates) that directly affect people’s health. In fact, NOx emissions are 95% below the limit set by current legislation; for example, in the Corolla Touring Sports, nitrogen oxide emissions are just 6 mg/km, compared to the expected limit of 60 mg/km for Euro 6 petrol cars and 80 mg/km for Euro 6 diesel cars. Taking action to tackle climate change is an urgent matter worldwide, and the promotion of sustainable, low-carbon energy has long been a major objective. That is why the company is taking a further step to address environmental challenges, placing hydrogen-based technologies at the forefront and striving to make them the primary energy source for tomorrow’s society. A future society in which there will not only be zero emissions, but where we will go even further, connecting people, buildings and vehicles within a single ecosystem, leading to a better society centred on mobility for all – a form of mobility that goes beyond cars and is about overcoming challenges and making dreams a reality.
