FOTON IS SET TO EXCEED 650,000 UNITS SOLD IN 2025 AND ACCELERATE ITS GLOBAL EXPANSION

  • FOTON continues to consolidate its position as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles, having closed 2025 with over 650,000 units sold globally and a 1,551% year-on-year increase in net profit.

This result reflects the progress made by the company, part of the BAIC Group, across three strategic pillars: international expansion, technological innovation and the development of sustainable mobility solutions.

Internationally, FOTON has strengthened its presence in key markets and accelerated its industrial localisation strategy. During 2025, international sales reached 164,500 units, whilst the company made progress in developing new production bases and industrial agreements across different regions.

Technological innovation has been another key driver of the company’s growth. In 2025, sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 101,200 units, representing an increase of 87.21% compared to the previous year, well above the industry average. The company has also launched new strategic models, such as the Tunland G7 and Tunland V9 pickups, designed for international markets such as Europe.

FOTON in Spain

The brand officially launched in Spain in March 2025 with ten sales outlets and the aim of establishing itself in the pick-up and light commercial vehicle segment. During this period, it sold 250 units and set up its own spare parts distribution centre in Spain, which is essential for reducing delivery times to end customers.

By 2026, the company aims to grow by 180% to reach 700 units sold, with a network that doubles its sales outlets and a clear roadmap: to continue offering pick-ups for both professional work and leisure, and vans adapted to today’s urban logistics. Mid-year will see the launch of the upgraded range of Tunland G7 and Tunland V9 models, featuring improvements in mechanics, equipment, safety and new body styles.

In the words of Manuel Salvadores, Managing Director of FOTON Spain, “2026 is set to be a year of growth for Foton in Spain, supported by a dealer network in which we have complete confidence and the strengthening of our after-sales service, with a local spare parts warehouse already operational. Beyond the planned launches, we will continue to expand our range with new technologies, including plug-in hybrid versions scheduled for 2027.”
