Hiking amongst coves and Mediterranean tradition

Exploring the Costa Brava on foot allows you to discover the region’s most authentic spots. The coastal path between Llafranc and Tamariu combines coastal landscapes with Mediterranean vegetation, offering stunning views and access to spectacular hidden beaches and coves.

The experience combines the walk with a stop to enjoy a delicious rice casserole by the sea and a trip on a traditional boat, making the excursion a well-rounded experience that brings together nature, culture and gastronomy.

Water sports for exploring the sea as a family

The Mediterranean is perfect for enjoying water-based activities suitable for all ages. From underwater viewing excursions in protected areas to kayaking trips on the Costa Brava or the River Ter.

In the Montgrí Coast and Medes Islands Natural Park, you can explore caves, coves, the natural Foradada tunnel and the Medes Islands themselves – where the seabed is truly unique – aboard a glass-bottomed boat.

Kayaking experiences, whether on rivers or at sea, allow you to discover the area from a different perspective: paddling in calm waters, venturing into natural areas or skirting the coast to reach spots inaccessible by land. These are safe and accessible activities that combine sport, nature and fun, perfect for families.

Cycle tourism: discovering the region at a different pace

In the heart of the Baix Empordà, nature and tradition come together in an experience designed for active, sensory enjoyment with the whole family. The ‘Rice Route with the Five Senses’ invites you to explore the iconic rice paddies of Pals by electric bike – a living landscape that allows you to connect with your surroundings.

Along the route, the gentle pedalling is accompanied by the sounds of the countryside, the scents of the earth and the rich colours of one of the Costa Brava’s most unique agricultural landscapes.

The experience includes a guided tour of the rice fields and a visit to the historic Pals Mill, where you can learn about the cultivation and production of rice, one of the area’s most iconic products. To round off the experience, the tour offers a tasting of craft beer brewed from rice – a contemporary nod to local tradition.

All this takes place on an electric bike and is accompanied by an expert guide who provides context on the area, ensuring an enriching and accessible experience for all, with a distinct local flavour.
