Leonardo Hotels is heading into the summer season by consolidating its growth in the Spanish holiday market with an offering that combines high-demand destinations, prime locations and a range of services tailored to new traveller profiles.
Following a year characterised by expansion and the strengthening of its presence in Spain, Leonardo Hotels is turning its attention this summer to two of the leading destinations for Mediterranean tourism: the Costa del Sol and the Balearic Islands.
This strategy responds to the company’s sustained growth in the Spanish market, where the holiday segment has balanced its portfolio by strengthening its presence in coastal areas in high demand both nationally and internationally.
Costa del Sol: a range of over 580 rooms
On the Malaga coast, the big news this summer is the opening of the Leonardo Hotel Torremolinos Costa del Sol. With 398 rooms right in the heart of the town and just a few minutes from the beach, the hotel is making its debut this summer, showcasing its sea-view rooms, spacious communal areas and a Sky Bar with a swimming pool and panoramic views of the Mediterranean – which has already become a leading leisure destination in the town.
This latest addition complements the well-established Leonardo Hotel Fuengirola Costa del Sol, which offers a further 184 rooms. Situated right on the beachfront next to the marina, this hotel is celebrating three years of success as a key holiday destination within the chain. Together, the two establishments offer a total of over 580 rooms, providing two complementary experiences for exploring the Malaga coast: from the urban vibrancy of Torremolinos to the perfect balance of beach, leisure and gastronomy in Fuengirola.
Balearic Islands: an established presence in key international destinations
Leonardo Hotels’ holiday strategy also extends to the Balearic Islands, one of the main drivers of international tourism in Spain, where the company currently operates seven hotels across Mallorca and Ibiza.
In Mallorca, the chain has a strong presence that allows guests to discover the island’s rich cultural, gastronomic and leisure offerings. Notable among its hotels are establishments such as the Leonardo Boutique Hotel Mallorca Port Portals and the Leonardo Royal Hotel Mallorca, which reflect the chain’s commitment to comfort and attention to detail, just a few minutes’ walk from the island’s most exclusive spots and the waters of the Mediterranean.
Meanwhile, in Ibiza, the chain’s offering blends seamlessly with the destination’s free-spirited, Mediterranean atmosphere, with three hotels (NYX Hotel Ibiza, Leonardo Royal Hotel Ibiza Santa Eulalia, and Leonardo Royal Hotel Ibiza Suites) designed as relaxing retreats with swimming pools, chill-out areas and facilities tailored to different types of traveller, just a stone’s throw from the sea.
“We are approaching this summer season with optimism and the confidence instilled in us by two such well-established destinations as the Costa del Sol and the Balearic Islands. The addition of the Torremolinos hotel this year represents a very important step in our growth strategy in Spain and allows us to strengthen our presence in one of the most sought-after holiday destinations in southern Europe,” says Shay Raz, managing director of Leonardo Hotels.
Together, these destinations reinforce Leonardo Hotels’ strategy in Spain, based on geographical diversification and a presence in high-demand tourist markets, with a hotel offering that combines location, service and the ability to cater to different ways of enjoying the Mediterranean.
