The Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña), an autonomous body attached to the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, has published a new call for applications for 36 training grants for professional work placements, with the aim of providing beneficiaries with practical experience in carrying out the duties assigned to the State’s tourism administration.

The call for applications, a summary of which was published today in the Official State Gazette (BOE), provides for 32 grants at Spain’s regional tourism departments abroad and four at TURESPAÑA’s central offices in Madrid. The grants will last for twelve months, with the possibility of extension for a further twelve, and have a maximum total budget of over two million euros. The gross annual amounts have been updated to better reflect the cost of living in the various destination cities.

The aim of these scholarships is to enhance the qualifications and training of human resources in the Spanish tourism sector, promoting knowledge of international source markets, the distinctive attributes of the ‘Spain’ tourism brand, and the policies and tools for international tourism promotion.

The deadline for submitting applications is 14 September 2026.
