WHAT IF YOU COULD TASTE A WINE RIGHT WHEN IT’S BEING MADE?

¿Y si pudieras probar un vino justo cuando nace?
  • Bodegas Comenge opens the doors to its winery, offering a unique experience amongst the vineyards, with freshly decanted wines and a traditional stew, all whilst enjoying views of the Ribera del Duero.

Some autumn plans begin with a glass of wine. Others allow you to discover what happens long before that wine reaches your glass.

On 17 October, Bodegas Comenge invites you to delve into one of the most special — and least accessible — moments in winemaking: the ‘descube’, that instant when the wine has just finished fermenting and begins to reveal its personality for the very first time.

‘Descubre Comenge: The Birth of Wine’ is an experience designed to let you experience the winery from the inside, right in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, and taste wines that are normally reserved for the winemaking team. Because here, you don’t just come to taste; you come to discover a wine that is still in the making.

From the vineyard to the glass, with no shortcuts

The day begins with a stroll through the organic vineyards surrounding the winery, getting to know the plots and understanding how the soil, aspect, climate and biodiversity ultimately leave their mark on each wine.

Then comes the most special moment: entering the winemaking area and tasting, alongside the technical team at Bodegas Comenge, single-varietal wines straight from the tank, freshly fermented and just decapped. These wines are still young, intense and undergoing a transformation, allowing you to discover the differences between grape varieties, aromas, textures and character practically from their very origins.

It is, quite literally, tasting the wine before it becomes the wine we know.

And after learning, it’s time to sit down at the table

Because few things go better with a Castilian autumn than wine, good food and the time to enjoy them.

The experience continues with a guided tasting of Colección Comenge Verdejo, Biberius and Don Miguel Comenge, accompanied by small artisanal bites, before rounding off the meal with a traditional stew paired with Familia Comenge, Organic Reserve, followed by dessert and coffee.

An event that blends wine, scenery, gastronomy and the local region, transforming a day in the Ribera del Duero into a brief immersion in that time of year when everything begins.
