ACCOR CONTINUES ITS EXPANSION IN LATIN AMERICA WITH THE SIGNING OF PULLMAN PANAMA CITY

Accor continúa su expansión en América Latina con la firma de Pullman Panama City
  • The project marks Pullman’s debut in Panama and Accor’s first premium hotel in the country.

Accor, a world leader in hospitality, has announced the signing of Pullman Panama City, a project that marks the debut of Pullman Hotels & Resorts in Panama and represents Accor’s first premium hotel in the country. The development will be carried out in partnership with the Mercan Group in Panama.

The arrival of Pullman reinforces Accor’s growth strategy in Latin America. Located in one of the region’s most well-connected and dynamic destinations, Pullman Panama City will bring the brand’s distinctive offering to the heart of the Panamanian capital. Designed for travellers who value spaces that promote both productivity and connection, the hotel will offer an urban experience that brings together local and international guests.

The hotel will be situated in Bella Vista, one of Panama City’s most dynamic areas, with easy access to the financial district, the Casco Antiguo – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – the main shopping areas and the urban transport network. It will feature approximately 300 rooms, an events hall and new dining concepts centred around bars. It is scheduled to open in 2028.

Its facilities will include a lobby bar, a rooftop bar with a swimming pool, restaurants, a gym, a wellness centre and spa, co-working spaces, meeting and conference rooms, as well as entertainment areas. Together, these spaces will create a flexible environment where guests can stay, meet and connect, whether for business meetings or social occasions.

Panama was chosen due to its status as one of Latin America’s leading business hubs. Tocumen International Airport, known as the Hub of the Americas, connects over 80 destinations across some 40 countries, facilitating the flow of visitors between North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

In addition to its air connectivity, Panama boasts one of the continent’s most robust logistics networks, comprising the Panama Canal, ports on both oceans, free trade zones and an ecosystem of financial and corporate services. These factors have established the country as a key market for international investment, business travel and regional growth.

“The signing of the Pullman Panama City agreement represents a significant step in the expansion of Accor’s portfolio in Latin America. Thanks to its strategic location, the hotel will meet the needs of both business and leisure travellers in one of the region’s most important urban destinations. We are convinced that Pullman offers the right combination of a strong international brand, a contemporary hospitality offering and robust commercial capabilities to maximise the potential of this project”, said Abel Castro, Chief Development Officer at Accor Americas.

“We are proud to partner with Accor to introduce Pullman, one of its world-renowned premium brands, to Panama. This agreement represents a significant milestone for Mercan Group in Panama, as it marks our first development in the country and reinforces our long-term commitment to investing in cities with strong tourism potential. Together with Accor, we are bringing to life a flagship hospitality project through the refurbishment of an iconic building, helping to strengthen Panama’s tourism offering, driving economic growth and generating value for the local community. “Thanks to our international experience in hotel development and investment, we look forward to working hand in hand with Accor to create a benchmark destination that reflects the highest standards of quality, sustainability and guest experience,” said Jordi Vilanova, Vice-President of Mercan Group.

Pullman Hotels & Resorts is one of Accor’s leading brands, inspired by the exchange of ideas, contrast and energy. With more than 150 hotels and resorts in over 40 countries, Pullman creates meeting places where people, cultures and ideas come together. More than just a hotel, Pullman is a meeting place where international travellers and creative minds come together to collaborate and discover new perspectives.

With this agreement, Accor continues to strengthen its presence in Latin America, a strategic region within its development and growth plan. The Group currently operates more than 450 hotels in the Americas and maintains a solid portfolio of projects under development in key markets. The addition of Pullman Panama City reinforces this ambition for expansion and reaffirms Accor’s commitment to destinations with high potential for international tourism and business travel.
