AIR FRANCE PARTNERS WITH APPLE TV TO ENHANCE ITS IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT OFFERING

  • Since January, Air France has partnered with the award-winning Apple TV streaming service to enhance its in-flight entertainment offering.

More than 45 hours of original content, including globally successful series, are now available to all customers travelling on the airline’s long-haul flights. In addition, free access to Apple TV is also offered directly through the connection portal of Air France‘s new high-speed Wi-Fi, which is being progressively rolled out across its entire fleet.

A prestigious Apple TV catalogue on long-haul flights

Air France now offers exclusive access to a selection of Apple TV programmes on all its long-haul flights.

During the flight, customers can discover some of today’s most award-winning original series, such as Ted Lasso, The Morning Show and Severance. Series that showcase the French art of living, such as Carême, are also available. The catalogue is rounded off with documentaries such as Prehistoric Planet and The Reluctant Traveller with Eugene Levy, and content for children, such as WondLa and The Snoopy Show.

The first three episodes of each series are included in a dedicated channel within the in-flight entertainment offering. They are accessible from each individual screen, in both French and English, with subtitles and adapted for the deaf or hard of hearing. In total, 45 hours of programming are offered, which are renewed every two months.

Discover Apple TV thanks to Air France's ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi, coming soon to all flights

Air France is also offering a week of free access to Apple TV content via its new ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi connection portal. It’s an ideal way to enjoy the service from personal devices across the airline’s entire flight network and continue watching your favourite series after your flight.

Currently available via the portal, this feature will soon be enhanced by Air France and Apple TV to offer passengers a personalised trial offer, available exclusively on board.

Air France is gradually rolling out its new ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi offering across its entire fleet, including regional aircraft, and expects to offer this service on all its aircraft before the end of the year.

Over 1,500 hours of entertainment on board

On all its long-haul flights, Air France offers each passenger a high-definition screen with over 1,500 hours of on-demand entertainment. In its newest cabins, the anti-glare screen, with 4K quality, incorporates Bluetooth connectivity so that each person can use their own earphones or headphones. In addition, the company is gradually implementing a new touchscreen interface on its 38,000 screens, available in 12 languages, which allows even more intuitive access to all programmes.

Carefully selected, Air France’s entertainment offering caters to a diversity of tastes and cultures, with content available in its original version or translated into numerous languages. The company devotes 30% of its programming to French productions, showcasing French cinema with a selection of films and series.

In total, more than 310 films of all genres are offered, from great classics to the latest releases. Air France also enriches its offering through exclusive agreements (Canal+, Apple TV) and offers a wide variety of series, reports, documentaries, music, podcasts, destination guides and children’s programmes. A section dedicated to well-being allows passengers, both adults and children, to try meditation or yoga in their seats during the flight. Finally, an interactive map and an on-board camera offer the possibility of following the flight path in real time and enjoying take-off or landing from any seat.
