Air France is enhancing the experience it offers in its VIP lounges to customers travelling on long-haul flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, thanks to a new culinary offering created by chef Yves Camdeborde, an iconic figure on the French culinary scene and a pioneer of ‘bistronomy’.
True havens of tranquillity in the heart of the airport, Air France’s VIP lounges pay tribute to the excellence of French cuisine, driven by an ongoing commitment to more sustainable gastronomy. In these welcoming spaces inspired by Parisian ‘brasseries’ and cafés, the menu varies according to the time of day and showcases iconic French produce.
In its VIP lounges for long-haul flights, located in Terminal 2E, in boarding areas K, L and M at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, the airline is thus expanding its dining offering for lunch and dinner. Passengers can enjoy a selection of dishes created by French chef Yves Camdeborde, which are updated regularly each season and prepared in collaboration with Sodexo Live!, a world leader in hospitality, present in over 180 airport VIP lounges worldwide. A generous, simple and authentic menu, true to the chef’s style. On this month’s menu: free-range chicken with lemon confit, served with ratatouille; a creamy celeriac tart served with cod, hake and smoked trout; or a creamy lasagne with spinach, mozzarella and walnuts, topped with mushrooms and roasted parsnips.
“In a VIP lounge, the cuisine must complement every moment of the journey, whether it is fleeting or more protracted. To suit every occasion, I have devised dishes for Air France customers designed to be enjoyed on the go or savoured more leisurely, through cuisine that is sincere, rooted in our land and driven by the work of our producers,” said Yves Camdeborde.
As for pastries, Air France also offers its customers a ‘Finger Entremets Chocolat noisette’, created by Lenôtre, an all-chocolate dessert comprising a delicate chocolate mousse, a cocoa biscuit and a crisp puff pastry.
About YVES CAMDEBORDE
Yves Camdeborde is a leading figure in contemporary French gastronomy and the creator of ‘bistronomy’. He has revolutionised the genre by combining the high standards of haute cuisine with the welcoming simplicity of bistros. As a committed chef, he champions a vibrant and authentic cuisine, guided by a deep love for France’s terroirs and their producers, respect for the seasons, and the joy of sharing. His belief is that emotion can arise from both a fine ingredient and an everyday one, provided they are cooked with skill, sincerity and heart. Far beyond his own restaurants, his influence has shaped an entire generation, paving the way for a gastronomy that is freer, more accessible and decidedly human.
