The perfect formula for a summer getaway exists: a unique setting on the coast of Cádiz, spectacular sunsets by the sea, two nights of live music, and a lineup designed to be enjoyed from start to finish. This is how La Movida Sound returns, which will celebrate its second edition on August 7 and 8 in Barbate.
The fairgrounds of Barbate, next to the Hierbabuena beach, in the heart of the Breña and Marismas del Barbate Natural Park, will once again be the fabulous space hosting the new edition of La Movida Sound, after its enormous success last year with its inaugural edition. More than 20 hours of live music, an expected 20,000 attendees, and two nights with the best indie and national pop artists.
The big confirmation for this edition is Taburete. The Madrid band led by Willy Bárcenas and Antón Carreño will arrive with a new repertoire and that festive and contagious live performance that has made them one of the great popular phenomena of recent Spanish pop. It will be a fantastic opportunity to listen to their new album, El perro que fuma, live.
Alongside them, a very well-designed lineup. Siloé, La La Love You, Pignoise, Leire Martínez, Iñigo Quintero, Besmaya, Inazio, Mafalda Cardenal, Mi Hermano y Yo, and Pavlenha, in addition to a surprise performance yet to be revealed. Without a doubt, a commitment to artists capable of connecting with audiences of different ages. The lineup for this second edition is presented as one of the great cultural proposals of the Andalusian summer.
Barbate and the Cadiz coast: a summer getaway filled with music, sea and flavour
In its second edition, La Movida Sound once again turns Barbate into one of the must-visit summer getaways and the perfect excuse to discover one of the most attractive destinations in the south. Cádiz showcases all its magnetism at this event: endless beaches, unique light, a relaxed pace, and a way of life that invites you to disconnect and enjoy without hurry. The festival thus adds to the natural and cultural charm of an area that every August seduces travellers from all over Spain.
Located in front of Hierbabuena Beach and surrounded by the Breña Natural Park and Barbate Marshes, the setting offers much more than live music. Paths through pine forests and cliffs, water sports in Atlantic waters, unforgettable sunsets, and corners with privileged views turn each day into a complete experience. Very close by, places like Zahora, Los Caños de Meca, or Vejer allow you to extend your getaway and discover some of the most special landscapes of the Cadiz coast.
Gastronomy is another major attraction of the area, with red tuna from the almadraba as its indisputable emblem. In addition, there are terraces by the sea, markets, local commerce, and the hospitality of a land that knows how to welcome. Attending La Movida Sound is also an opportunity to immerse yourself in the essence of Barbate and enjoy a summer where music, nature, and flavour go hand in hand.
