CANTABRIA BOUTIQUE HOMES AND WINETWOTRIP JOIN FORCES TO OFFER IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES THAT CONNECT WITH THE ESSENCE OF CANTABRIA

  • Would you like to stay in a rural accommodation with soul, where every moment becomes a memory? Cantabria Boutique Homes has teamed up with local agency Winetwotrip to invite you to discover the region in an authentic, welcoming and deeply inspiring way.

Born from a shared desire to enable every guest to experience Cantabria with all five senses, the partnership between Cantabria Boutique Homes and Winetwotrip elevates rural accommodation to a great story to tell, a reunion with tranquillity, nature and the flavours of a unique land. Authentic experiences, accommodation with soul and the passion of those who love and know their region: this is what this new chapter is all about, inviting you to discover Cantabria like never before.

After completing a master’s degree in Oenology and Viticulture, and after more than 13 years dedicated to the export of Spanish wines, Rafael López-Alonso turned his passion into a project with the creation of Winetwotrip, an agency specialising in tailor-made trips focused on wine and gastronomy in northern Spain. Today, this vocation to showcase the best of the region has joined forces with Cantabria Boutique Homes, founded by Cantabrian Adriana Andecochea, to bring memorable experiences to life both inside and outside its two extraordinary holiday rental homes: Villa Pacheca and Villa Leiva.

From now on, guests will be able to enjoy private tastings, introductory workshops on Cantabrian wines, and personalised themed activities for couples and groups. In addition, Winetwotrip designs exclusive outdoor plans that allow you to discover the region in a comfortable and exciting way: from horse riding through the dreamlike landscapes of the Pasiegos Valleys, followed by tastings with unbeatable views, to the ‘Wine and cheese in Liébana or Pasiegos Valleys’ experience, which combines tradition, gastronomy and culture in an unforgettable day. It is even possible to enjoy a wine tasting in the heart of Santander Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in the world, after a boat trip that will remain etched in the visitor’s memory forever.

Villa Pacheca Boutique House: a journey to the green heart of Cantabria

‘A getaway that fills your heart with positive energy.’ This is how Adriana Andecochea and her husband Germán Pérez, founders of Villa Pacheca, describe the spirit of this boutique house with more than 150 years of history, lovingly restored to preserve the rural and bucolic essence that characterises the endless landscape of Cantabria.

Located in the heart of the Toranzo Valley, one of the Pasiegos Valleys bathed by the Pas River and just three and a half hours from Madrid, Villa Pacheca combines comfort, tradition and tranquillity. Its five double bedrooms, its enormous living room with a fireplace located in an old stable, and its garden of over 2,500 m² create a space that invites you to stop time. Surrounded by oak, cork and fruit trees, each window opens onto a green canvas of a thousand shades.

With 300 m² spread over two floors, ashlar stone, mountain balconies and meticulous décor, the house offers all the comforts of boutique accommodation: 35 cm mattresses, premium cotton sheets, Netflix, heating in all rooms and an outdoor area perfect for barbecues. Just a few minutes away, the villages of Ontaneda and Alceda offer visitors the chance to savour authentic local produce, from zero-kilometre cuisine to the famous sobaos and quesadas pasiegas. And just 15 minutes away, the historic Puente Viesgo Spa offers the perfect finishing touch for those seeking an unforgettable gift.

Villa Leiva Casa Boutique: the charming rural retreat you'll fall in love with

In the Saja-Nansa Valley stands Villa Leiva, a gem created with passion by Adriana and Germán. Its design pays homage to modernist art with a replica of the iconic tiles from Gaudí’s Capricho, which surround the living room fireplace and fill the room with magic and colour.

With 350 m² and capacity for 10 people, Villa Leiva perfectly combines traditional stone and wood with contemporary elegance. The house has five unique bedrooms, three full bathrooms and up to three living rooms with fireplaces, inviting long conversations and complete relaxation. The bright kitchen, designed as a gathering place, features red windows and a hidden breakfast nook that becomes a favourite spot for many guests.

Outside, a walled courtyard crowned by a bougainvillea, a fountain and a cypress tree evokes an Andalusian oasis in the heart of the north. The sun terrace on the top floor offers a private retreat for sunbathing or stargazing, while the covered porches allow you to enjoy the surroundings even on cooler days.

Just 800 metres away, the Bo. Vernejo promenade invites you to walk or cycle alongside the River Saja. And just a few kilometres away, natural treasures await, such as the Saja-Besaya Natural Park or the beaches of Gerra and Oyambre, perfect for rounding off a perfect getaway.
