- The iconic Cines de la Plaza Callao cinema is hosting a fun social event with influencers, street activities and gatherings for film lovers.
- The event invites participants to connect around their passion for the seventh art through fun and original activities.
Cines Callao, one of Madrid’s most iconic venues, announces Romance en Callao, a special Valentine’s Day event that will take place on 14 February in Plaza del Callao, from 6pm to 8pm.
This initiative not only offers a unique experience for the public in the heart of the city, but also marks the beginning of a year of celebrations for the 100-year history of Cines Callao, which opened in 1926, an anniversary that will highlight its role as a leading cultural and cinematographic venue in Madrid.
The event has two key elements. The first, conceived as a cinema-dating event, moves away from the traditional speed-dating format, offering spontaneous and authentic encounters based on cinematic tastes and cinema plans. The main objective is not to find a romantic partner, but to share plans and experiences related to cinema, from new releases to classics.
The second, which displays phrases of love and heartbreak from films on screens in the square and on Gran Vía, seeks to use cinema and its screens as a showcase for memorable stories related in one way or another to the art of filmmaking and the Cines Callao.
The activation will feature the participation of a couple of renowned content creators: Tote Fernández and Samantha Costantini, who will act as hosts for the event. Throughout the afternoon, they will interact with participants and the public, energising the event, interviewing passers-by in the square and creating fun moments, all with a cinematic and spontaneous touch.
Romance en Callao will bring the energy of the big screen to the street, inviting Madrid residents and visitors to enjoy a social experience centred on cinema in one of the city’s most emblematic locations, in the year that Cines Callao celebrates a century of history.
Location: Plaza del Callao, Madrid (c. Plaza del Callao, 3).
Date and time: 14 February, from 6pm to 8pm.
