- In Madrid, there are plenty of options for enjoying 14 February, the whole week, or even the entire month, with national or international flavours, sweet or savoury, at street level or from above… all plans that will make you fall in love.
- Another option is to celebrate with a romantic getaway to Burgos and visit Ricardo Temiño Restaurant (or use your gift voucher on another occasion); and without leaving the province, Pradorey also has some great plans: wine tourism with unexpected tastings and then spending the night in its 17th-century inn, with dinner, breakfast and a visit to the winery. From home, anywhere in the country, we can also toast with one of their wines.
Valentine's Day from restaurant to restaurant
Cokima. They invite you to a cocktail party to toast love in all its forms
Andrés Mellado, 21. Madrid. Tel. 91 598 94 01.
Cokima was founded in 2020, breaking the mould with its street food cuisine based on local seasonal produce with an international twist. The result is a menu with something for everyone, designed to be shared from start to finish. For those who want to celebrate love with a twist and a desire for culinary adventures, the experience at Cokima on 14 February begins with a welcome cocktail on the house, for everyone! Because, as Alberto Zurera, the restaurant’s manager, says, “At Cokima, we don’t care whether you have a partner or not. We toast to all kinds of love: friends who are family, family who are everything, and yes… also to loving yourself.” On that day, both at lunchtime and in the evening, everyone who sits at their tables will be invited to a cocktail made with pink gin, amaretto, maraschino, and a touch of cava… bubbly, elegant, and full of personality, perfect for toasting to love in all its forms.
El Jardín de Arturo Soria. The dessert tastes like strawberries and comes with two glasses of cava to accompany it.
Arturo Soria, 207. Madrid. Tel. 918 965 925.
This beautiful garden is one of the most romantic spots in the capital, and winter can be enjoyed from its glass-enclosed dining room, with warm lighting and views of its lush garden. The appealing menu is based on “product, quality and tradition”, and on such a special night, dishes such as scrambled eggs with boletus mushrooms stewed with caramelised onions and foie gras escalope, grilled Iberian lizard with PX reduction on a potato foam and baby potatoes, grilled monkfish Mediterranean style, or Txangurro a la donostiarra (spicy crab stew). The sweet finale is a given, as they have prepared an irresistible Fraisier for the occasion—the typical French dessert made with strawberries, Genoese sponge cake and muslin cream—which is as beautiful as it is delicious. What’s more, when you order it, they offer two glasses of cava for the perfect toast. The price is €10.

Ricardo Temiño Restaurant. Give the gift of a star
San Juan, 3. Burgos. Tel. 947 04 04 20.
Giving the gift of a star is nice… but eating at a “one-star” restaurant is even better and easier. So, taking advantage of the fact that Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, there’s nothing like taking a trip, for example, to Burgos, and discovering Ricardo Temiño Restaurant – awarded by Michelin and also with a Repsol star – and its Camino menu, inspired by the pilgrims who cross the city and their stories. Chef Ricardo Temiño and his partner and business associate Cristina Lázaro offer two options to enjoy your visit: the Camino Menu (14 courses / €90) and the Camino Largo Menu (18 courses / €110). Neither of them lacks the chef’s classics, such as the trilogy De tapas por Burgos, Paté croûte, Sopa Castellana or El Postre del abuelo, to which seasonal dishes are added. There are also small details that make a difference, such as savouring the first course at the wine cellar table or a coffee prepared live in front of the diner. To top it off, there’s nothing like including a carefully selected wine pairing.
And if you can’t be in the capital of Burgos on 14 February, you can also give a voucher to go at any other time, because love should be celebrated every day of the year. Starting at €190 for two people, it’s a delicious treat and is available on the restaurant’s website.
La Posada de Pradorey / Bodega Pradorey. Cupid likes wine… and chocolate too
Gumiel de Mercado, Burgos.
In February, wine tourism at this winery in Ribera del Duero—1.5 hours from Madrid—becomes more romantic and fun than ever. In addition to visiting the winery and tasting three of its wines, Monday to Friday visits now include the entertaining Winelovers, a game of compatibility for couples. How much do you know about your girlfriend, friend, father…? And the weekends of this sweet month will be themed and also include a different tasting: wine with chocolate or with sweets? From €36 per person.
And after a day of wine tourism, how about staying the night at La Posada de Pradorey, just 2 km from the winery? They have tempting packages that include one night’s accommodation, a visit to the winery, a special tasting activity, a tasting menu (lunch or dinner), breakfast and a welcome gift, from £266 per couple.

Pradorey. To give as a gift and toast with your partner… Élite, a wine with feminine character
Carretera CL – 619 km 66 ,1 Gumiel de Mercado. Burgos.
If we can’t go to Pradorey… we can always toast from home with one of their wines, and on this occasion we uncork Pradorey Elite, a wine that celebrates the essence of those who transform the world from their own history, a force that does not seek to shine, but leaves its mark. It is the perfect toast to celebrate love. A 100% Tempranillo Tinta Fina Elite clone, round, flavourful and mature, it accompanies food—including chocolate—and can also be enjoyed after dinner. What’s more, the presentation is also enchanting, as the elegant bottle is wrapped in a paper veil “tattooed” with its vines and comes in a beautiful wooden box. It is priced at €45.
