- Endorsed by customers and selected by a Master Sommelier, Delta’s new wine programme includes two DOCa Rioja options and has been designed to connect each glass with the destination, the people and the stories behind it.
- In addition, Taittinger Champagne is now available on Delta One on domestic flights.
At Delta, every detail of the travel experience is designed to help customers connect with the world around them. That philosophy lies at the heart of Delta’s new wine programme, a carefully curated collection that combines iconic Napa Valley producers with internationally renowned wine regions, such as two Spanish wines from Rioja. The wines will begin to be served on board from 1 October 2026.
Furthermore, following the excellent customer response to Taittinger Champagne served on International Delta One, it will be available free of charge in Delta One Lounges and, from 1 October, across all Delta One experiences, including domestic routes.
Iconos de California y clásicos españoles e internacionales
After evaluating 1,600 wines, Delta has narrowed the selection down to a carefully curated range of 13 wines from 11 partner wineries. The new portfolio is designed for both seasoned wine enthusiasts and those curious to discover the world of wine.
The new selection reflects the evolution of Delta’s vision: to make wine more accessible, versatile and deeply connected to the people, places and craftsmanship behind every bottle.
“Wine has the power to tell stories in a unique and personal way,” said Stephanie Laster, Managing Director, Onboard Experience. “Our aim was to create a programme that offered exceptional quality whilst also making wine feel more approachable. Every label in this collection helps connect customers with extraordinary destinations, passionate winegrowers and meaningful experiences that go far beyond the glass.”
The programme was developed in collaboration with Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson, who has been working alongside Delta for over two decades to create one of the aviation industry’s most renowned wine programmes. Together, and for the first time, Delta and Robinson opened up the selection process to SkyMiles members, who took part in blind tastings. The aim was to ensure that the final selection would appeal not only to wine experts, but also to customers who enjoy wine on board.
“It was our customers who helped shape this programme, and we are immensely proud of that,” added Laster. “It reflects Delta’s broader commitment to listening, innovating and creating experiences that truly connect with travellers.”
Two wines from the DOCa Rioja
At the heart of the new portfolio are two Spanish red wines from the DOCa Rioja region: Ontañón Reserva and Cune Reserva. These wines join those from the prestigious Napa Valley, one of the world’s most renowned wine regions and a place that perfectly embodies the balance between tradition, innovation and hospitality that defines the Delta One experience. By showcasing Napa on board, Delta offers its customers the opportunity to discover one of the United States’ leading food and wine destinations through the stories and people behind each label.
“Napa represents everything we love about wine as a travel and hospitality experience,” explained Robinson. “The quality of the wines produced in the region is extraordinary, but what really stands out are the people and the work in the vineyard behind each one. These are families and winegrowers who have dedicated generations to their craft, whilst continuing to innovate and raise their standards.”
Essentially, Delta’s wine programme is designed to bring the world of wine closer to passengers, complementing a wide variety of dishes and dining experiences on board.
