Emirates has become the world’s first airline to offer Comprehensive Travel Cover, a pioneering travel insurance scheme that covers everything, including medical cover for conflict-related incidents; backed by hotel accommodation arranged by the airline and assistance with extended stays, all across a wide range of service disruption scenarios.
Where itineraries include connections with other airlines or Emirates services are unavailable, Emirates will also rebook affected customers to their destination at no extra cost, even in cases where flights have been cancelled due to conflict-related disruptions.
Customers can now plan and travel with greater peace of mind from the moment they book their trip, thanks to the insurance’s extended medical cover, backed by Travel Guard, and Emirates’ additional disruption assistance, in addition to the existing travel insurance offering.
Emirates’ new Comprehensive Travel Cover includes cover for trip cancellation, compensation for delayed or lost luggage, unlimited cover for medical expenses and emergency evacuation worldwide, amongst other generous benefits. The recently added conflict cover offers reimbursement of medical expenses up to a maximum of 25,000 US dollars and a free extension of the trip by up to 30 days. The cover is not subject to government travel advisories.
Rooted in Emirates’ brand promise of fly better and its duty of care towards customers, the airline arranges hotel accommodation during disruptions, including airspace closures**. This is in addition to existing customer-focused benefits, such as free date changes for tickets booked from 2 April onwards and the option to ‘hold my fare’ for 24 hours at no cost, offering travellers flexibility, peace of mind and support every step of the way.
Emirates’ Comprehensive Travel Cover is available at an affordable premium and offers exceptional value. Available from today, it can be purchased on emirates.com at the time of booking or added to existing bookings via ‘Manage Booking’. *
Sir Tim Clark, Chairman of Emirates Airline, said: “Listening to customer feedback, we realised that demand for travel remains strong, but that there was a gap in the market when it came to travel insurance cover.
