GRANDVOYAGE MAKES THE LEAP TO BME SCALEUP TO BOOST ITS GROWTH AND CONSOLIDATE ITS LEADERSHIP IN LONG-DISTANCE TRAVEL

  • GrandVoyage, a Spanish company specialising in long-distance travel and personalised experiences, has today taken a decisive step forward in its development by joining the BME Scaleup market.

With this move, the company is reinforcing its growth strategy, consolidating its position in the sector and committing to a model that combines proprietary technology, specialisation and a strong human focus.

Founded in 2012 by Arvin Abarca, GrandVoyage began as a digital pioneer in online sales of medium- and long-distance travel. Its offering combines proprietary technology—capable of simplifying complex processes—with the experience and expert guidance of a team specialising in more than 70 destinations and 400 customisable itineraries.

Over the course of these thirteen years, the company has grown steadily and diversified its portfolio to include Asia, Africa, and America. It has strengthened its position by opening an office in Bogotá to boost its presence in Latin America and has made progress in sustainability certifications and brand building.

During the pandemic, far from slowing down its activity, GrandVoyage strengthened its structure, optimised processes and consolidated an operating model that is now more robust, efficient and scalable.

Arvin Abarca, CEO of GrandVoyage: ‘Without being able to—or wanting to—give up our technological DNA, at GrandVoyage we are convinced that the real key to the company is the human factor: everything we create and automate thanks to software and artificial intelligence is geared towards enhancing the quality of service, expert judgement and the contribution of the people who make up the GrandVoyage team.’

Joining BME Scaleup will enable GrandVoyage to: Accelerate technological investments and new AI functionalities. Boost its international expansion, especially in Latin America and strategic markets. Strengthen its brand and visibility within the tourism and financial sector and attract talent and investment at a key stage of growth. This move comes at a time of recovery for long-haul tourism, with travellers demanding more authentic, secure and personalised experiences.

BME Scaleup is part of the growth markets of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, aimed at scaleups, SMEs, SOCIMIs and expanding companies. In 2024, they welcomed 23 new additions and now have more than 150 companies admitted to trading.

These markets offer companies advantages such as financing, visibility, improved reputation, access to a broad investor base, and greater ability to attract and retain talent.

About GRANDVOYAGE

GrandVoyage was founded in 2012 as one of the first Spanish digital native agencies specialising in long-distance travel. At a time when many agencies were still operating with traditional models, the company decided to digitise complex processes and offer tailor-made medium and long-distance routes, combining its own technology with deeply human expert criteria.

Since then, its trajectory has been marked by sustained growth: expansion of destinations in Asia, Africa and America; consolidation of a specialised team; and development of a product that now includes more than 70 destinations and 400 customisable itineraries. The pandemic posed an unprecedented challenge, but it was also a turning point that allowed the company to reinforce its structure, optimise processes and strengthen a more solid and scalable operating model.

This evolution has been accompanied by recent milestones such as the opening of an office in Bogotá to boost its presence in Latin America, the attainment of sustainability certifications, and the entry of a financial partner specialising in scaleups. All of this has gone hand in hand with the construction of a more sophisticated brand identity, without losing the accessible and approachable spirit that has always characterised GrandVoyage.

Today, with its own technology, international vision and the human factor at the heart of its business, the company is positioned as one of the most solid Spanish companies in long-distance tourism. In an increasingly competitive market, GrandVoyage is moving forward with determination, ambition and a proposal that combines innovation, discernment and proximity to continue growing and scaling up in capital markets such as BME Scaleup.
