INTUR, ‘DESTINO INTERIOR’, FROM 12 TO 15 NOVEMBER AT THE VALLADOLID TRADE FAIR

  • Intur Negocios will bring together industry professionals in the international business travel market.

  • Intur Viajeros, a platform for destinations and companies attracting thousands of visitors.

“Destino Interior” is the theme of the 29th edition of Intur, the International Inland Tourism Fair, which will take place from 12 to 15 November at the Valladolid Exhibition Centre. The event will kick off with Intur Negocios, a conference for professionals whose main focus is the business-to-business market.

Last year, Intur Negocios saw a significant increase in both quality and quantity, with a rise of around 30 per cent in the number of participating tour operators, representing some twenty countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia. “We quadrupled our international presence and also saw an increase in the number of business contacts made during the event; the aim now is to consolidate this trend and continue to be a benchmark in inland tourism,” explained Alberto Alonso, Managing Director of Feria de Valladolid.

The sectors targeted by Intur Negocios encompass all aspects of domestic tourism, from accommodation and transport to technology and services, venues for business tourism, travel agencies, tour guides, language tourism, nature tourism, and more.

And from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th, Intur Viajeros will take place, the major exhibition where destinations showcase to visitors the endless options that inland tourism offers in terms of culture, nature, gastronomy, astro-tourism, health, sport, and more. At the last edition, Intur Viajeros featured representatives from 16 Spanish autonomous communities, 18 provinces, over 150 municipalities, companies, professional associations, research centres and a wide range of tourist offerings from Portugal.

Intur is recognised as a comprehensive international trade fair by the Ministry of Economy and is also a member of the International Exhibition Industry Association (UFI). Both of these designations confirm Intur’s status as a benchmark for the domestic tourism sector, underpinned by its track record, results, commitment and the support of professional tourism bodies.

The “UFI-approved international event” seal is a globally recognised certification for high-quality exhibitions, which undergo regular audits in accordance with the association’s international standards, and is in place in 84 countries.

Spending by international tourists

Of this total, 2.254 billion euros correspond to the inland autonomous communities, although Madrid accounts for 71.4 per cent of the total and ranks as the second most important destination, behind the Canary Islands.

The United Kingdom accounts for expenditure of 1.085 billion euros, followed by Germany with 826 million; the Nordic countries, 550 million; France, 474 million; and Italy, 330 million euros. The average length of stay for foreign tourists in Spain was 8.6 days.
