- The Intur Negocios trade day will take place on Thursday 12th.
- Intur Viajeros will open its doors from 13th to 15th, featuring over a thousand offers from Spain and Portugal.
Intur, the International Inland Tourism Fair, will hold its 29th edition next week, an event for industry professionals and travellers across two distinct yet complementary venues: Intur Negocios and Intur Viajeros.
Intur Negocios, which will take place on Thursday 12 November, will focus primarily on the procurement market. Around 70 tour operators and wholesale agencies specialising in the various segments of domestic tourism – cultural, food and wine, nature and urban – and different formats – family holidays, bespoke trips, unique experiences, etc. – will gather there.
These buyers will be joined at their workstations by over a thousand suppliers offering all kinds of services, ranging from accommodation to land and air transport, venues for MICE events (incentive travel, conventions and events), and active tourism activities.
Companies such as Tripadvisor, Civitatis, Travelzoo, Smartbox Group, G2Travel, Intrepid Travel, Viajes El Corte Inglés, Rusticae and Yanolja Go Global will be taking part in Intur Negocios this year, where they are primarily seeking proposals relating to culture, heritage, gastronomy, wine tourism, rural tourism, and nature and active tourism experiences.
Intur Negocios is a project organised by Feria de Valladolid in collaboration with the Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Regional Government of Castile and León.
Following the trade day, on Friday 13th, Intur Viajeros will open its doors: a major exhibition covering 11,000 square metres, featuring 125 stands representing over a thousand destinations in Spain and Portugal.
“One of Intur’s defining features is its ability to bring together large regions and smaller initiatives, both of which share the spotlight and take centre stage over the three days, from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th”, said Alberto Alonso, Managing Director of Feria de Valladolid.
At this year’s event, Intur Viajeros features the institutional participation of eleven autonomous communities, 21 tourism boards – including all ten from Castile and León – more than 200 local councils with representation, associations of local authorities and collective destinations, as well as hotel, technology and transport companies, specialist media outlets and sectoral tourism associations.
Portugal’s tourism offering will be located in Hall 1, where the attractions of the Centro, Porto e Norte, Lisbon and Alentejo regions will be showcased, alongside inter-municipal communities, local authorities, companies and an association committed to nature-based tourism through the restoration of habitats, species and flora. In total, 80 per cent of Portugal’s territory will be represented at Intur Viajeros.
Talks on inland tourism
“Where are today’s tourists?” is the title of the talks to be held on Thursday 12th at Intur Negocios, which will cover topics such as competitiveness, training, connectivity, managing the aftermath of a major event, rural tourism, accessibility, challenges facing hotels in inland destinations, the importance of incoming travel agencies, and more.
Speakers will include specialists from organisations such as Turespaña, CEOE, Segittur, the Universities of Valladolid and Nebrija, the Association of Hotel Managers, Impulsa Igualdad, the Spanish Rural Tourism Network and the Valladolid Travel Agents’ Association.
Presentations, gastronomy, folklore
The programme of activities for visitors at Intur Viajeros is almost endless: presentations, tastings, folklore displays, traditional games organised by the La Tanguilla cultural association… a wealth of ideas for discovering the regions through the senses.
At the same time, events will be held such as the conference organised by the ‘Pueblos de Película’ Association – comprising 27 municipalities – aimed at both professionals and the general public; and the event promoted by the Spanish Rural Tourism Network, an organisation bringing together associations from Asturias, La Rioja, Aragon, Catalonia, the Basque Country and Castile and León.
