From its rich cultural history and heritage to its vibrant food scene and modern cities, South Korea has positioned itself as a world-class tourist destination. In 2025 (between January and November), 55,463 Spanish tourists visited the country, representing a 24.4% increase over 2024. This increase is also corroborated by the main Spanish tour operators, who recorded a spectacular increase in travellers to a destination that attracts the whole family with its mix of tradition, modernity and landscapes.
A booming destination for Wewlness, nature and Hallyu tourism
- Hallyu Tourism: The Korean Wave that attracts crowds.
The Hallyu phenomenon, known as the ‘Korean Wave,’ has raised interest in South Korean pop culture to unprecedented levels. Korean dramas, K-pop music and fashion have captured the attention of millions of people around the world. In Spain, events such as K-Expo in Madrid and FITUR 2025 have highlighted the growing interest of Spaniards in Korean cultural content.
