  • Iker Casillas, Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, Cari Lapique and Charo Izquierdo are part of the jury that has already begun the process of selecting the winners.

The jury for the fifth edition of the SIE Awards, Spain is Excellence, met at the Rosewood Villa Magna to deliberate and select this year’s winners. These awards recognise the excellence, commitment and positive impact of individuals and organisations in key sectors for Spain’s international profile.

The meeting took place on 20 January in Madrid and consisted of a working session focused on analysing and discussing the nominations, in a collective exercise of reflection and comparison of criteria that defines the spirit of the SIE Awards.

The jury for this fifth edition brings together leading figures from the worlds of business, culture, gastronomy, sport and the media. It is made up of Cari Lapique, businesswoman; Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, actress, producer and journalist; Pepa Muñoz, owner of the restaurant El Qüenco de Pepa and president of FACYRE; Fernando Yarza López-Madrazo, president of Grupo Henneo and the World Association of Newspapers (WAN-IFRA); Juan Manuel González Serna, founder of Grupo SIRO and vice-president of Iberdrola; Iker Casillas, sports icon and pillar of Marca España; Charo Izquierdo, fashion consultant, journalist, writer and businesswoman; Susana Gómez Foronda, independent director of SIE and Grupo Henneo and senior advisor at Sherpa Capital Henneo; Silvia Arroyo, CEO of PDE Consultores and partner-director of SIE; and Ana Alonso, CEO of SIE.

During the meeting held at the Rosewood Villa Magna Hotel, each member of the jury presented their proposals by category, which were then analysed and put to a joint vote, taking into account the values of innovation, sustainability, commitment and excellence that define Spain is Excellence. As a result of this process, the winners of this fifth edition have now been selected and will be announced publicly during the awards ceremony.

The categories evaluated in this edition are: Gastronomy, Tourism, Family Business, Large Company, Fashion, Culture and Sport.

The SIE Awards have established themselves as an observatory of good practices and leadership, in line with the mission of Spain is Excellence, an organisation that promotes a model of excellence applied to tourism, culture and business, highlighting projects and trajectories that contribute to sustainable, responsible and high-value development for Spain.

The process will culminate with the presentation of the SIE Awards on 15 June, when the winners of this fifth edition will be announced, putting the finishing touch to a process marked by the rigour, debate and diversity of views that characterise Spain is Excellence.
