Magaluf, in the Mallorcan municipality of Calvià, continues to make progress in its transformation as a tourist destination, establishing a new identity based on quality, a more diverse range of attractions, and the appeal to visitors who are more environmentally conscious and respectful of the local environment. This evolution reflects an ambitious vision for the future, focused on revitalising the destination and building a more balanced and purposeful tourism offering, with the aim of positioning itself as a leader in experiential and sustainable tourism.

In this context, the destination is moving towards a model that promotes the creation of new experiences such as the “selfie trail” and “Calvià, Film Set”, with new openings planned for 2026 and the modernisation of existing establishments, alongside the development of a cultural and leisure programme that actively contributes to the deseasonalisation and ongoing revitalisation of the destination.

Opening of the new seafront promenade: a new social and cultural hub

One of the highlights of this process will be the opening of the second phase of Magaluf’s new seafront promenade, scheduled for 27 June. The opening will be celebrated with a major cultural event that will showcase this urban transformation, featuring the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra in a special open-air concert, accompanied by artistic performances and cultural activities in a revitalised seaside setting.
This new seafront space is set to become a key meeting point for the destination’s social, cultural and tourist life, reinforcing its role as a venue for experiences open to residents and visitors alike.

Culture, creativity and new narratives of destiny

This commitment to culture is also reflected in innovative projects such as “Calvià, Film Set”, an initiative that positions the municipality as a location for film shoots and audiovisual production, facilitating links between the region and the film and audiovisual production industries. This project showcases the destination’s diverse landscapes and urban settings, with locations ranging from the coastal areas of Magaluf, Palmanova and Illetes to natural enclaves and unique landscapes such as Portals Vells, Caló d’en Monjo and the Galatzó Public Estate—settings that have hosted international film shoots and which reinforce their appeal as natural film sets for new audiovisual narratives.

Added to this is the launch of the “Magaluf selfie trail”, a tourist experience marketed by the company TURS take your selfie, featuring smart signage that will allow visitors to take photos independently at various points around the destination. The route will feature several photo spots on Passeig Calvià and the beach, and will soon be extended to the area around the Torre de Torrenova, showcasing Magaluf’s diversity across its more rural surroundings, the coastline and its more urban and modern views.

Magaluf, a venue for major cultural and professional events

Furthermore, Magaluf is strengthening its position as a venue for major cultural and professional events, establishing a programme that helps to diversify the destination’s offering and generate activity throughout the year. In this context, the upcoming edition of Conecta stands out: an international gathering of the audiovisual industry that will bring together professionals, creators, platforms, production companies, distributors and agents from the tourism, cultural and creative sectors in Magaluf from 25 to 28 May, transforming the destination into a hub for talent, innovation and the development of projects on a global scale.

The initiative offers a gastronomic tour of the destination through special menus, bringing local cuisine into everyday life and creating experiences that combine local produce, the region and hospitality.
