MINI will once again be the official sponsor of Madrid Design Festival 2026, the major international design event that will turn the city into a benchmark for contemporary creativity.

Now in its ninth edition, the festival will bring together professionals, institutions and brands around an extensive programme of activities, a context in which MINI seeks to reinforce its commitment to design by presenting the 6th edition of the MINI Design Award.

Recognition for projects that improve life in cities

As part of the festival, MINI will hold the 6th edition of the MINI Design Award with the aim of rewarding the best design projects focused on improving quality of life in cities.

This year reflects the dynamism of the sector with more than 60 projects submitted in both the professional and new talent categories, with proposals that address urban challenges from a design perspective and focus on well-being, functionality and a positive impact on people’s daily lives.

The finalists will be announced in the coming days and the winners at the awards ceremony to be held on 19 February at the Instituto Libre de Enseñanza, an emblematic venue that will host the event with festival guests and representatives from the creative world.

MINI exhibition designed by Iria Martínez

During the gala, attendees will also be able to discover ‘Life’s Road / Carretera de la vida’, an exhibition by Iria Martínez, a multidisciplinary artist and interior designer from Madrid.

The exhibition offers a conceptual journey that connects design, experience and movement, inviting visitors to look at the city and its daily routes from a creative perspective.

New to the Madrid Design Festival programme this year is FORMA DESIGN FAIR MADRID, a design market that will be held from 4 to 8 March at Matadero Madrid.

In this new space, MINI will exclusively present the new MINI x Paul Smith edition, a special collaboration where MINI’s iconic engineering meets the creative vision of one of the leading figures in contemporary British design.
