Mitsubishi y la Real Federación Española de Ciclismo pedalean juntos hacia la movilidad sostenible
  • Mitsubishi will support the activities of the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation with its range of electric vehicles.

Mitsubishi Motors Spain and the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation have reached a partnership agreement under which the car manufacturer will provide official vehicles to support the federation’s activities both nationally and internationally.

As part of this agreement, Mitsubishi will provide models such as the Grandis, which in its hybrid variant combines efficiency and versatility with modern design, connected technology and a high level of comfort to suit both everyday use and long-distance journeys; and the brand’s flagship model, the Outlander PHEV, which features advanced plug-in hybrid technology, intelligent all-wheel drive and outstanding electric range, offering performance, safety and a driving experience of the highest standard. Both will be used for logistical support at competitions, as well as for the travel needs of the federation’s members.

Currently, the RFEC represents the interests of 19 regional federations, more than 3,500 clubs, over 70,000 registered cyclists and more than 9 million weekly cyclists in Spain. It also leads the management and promotion of disciplines such as road cycling, track cycling, mountain biking, BMX, Paralympic cycling, cyclo-cross, trials, gravel, cycle tourism and virtual cycling.

Manuel Salvadores, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors in Spain, said: “This agreement with the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation reflects our commitment to sustainable mobility and sport. We want to support a key institution in the development of cycling in Spain, providing efficient mobility solutions tailored to its needs.”

For his part, José Vicioso, president of the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation, emphasised: “The partnership with Mitsubishi represents a significant boost to our day-to-day activities. Having reliable and efficient vehicles will allow us to continue developing our competitions and projects with greater assurance, whilst also reinforcing our commitment to sustainability.”

This agreement reinforces Mitsubishi Motors’ commitment to sustainable mobility and sport, aligning with the values of cycling and actively contributing to the growth of the sport in Spain. It will also enable the RFEC to optimise its operations and continue to carry out its activities to the highest standards, including its participation in national and international competitions, as well as in Olympic and Paralympic programmes.

Through this partnership, both organisations are consolidating a strategic alliance aimed at promoting cycling as a driving force for health, sustainability and sporting development in Spain.
