Create a Cuvée at the Sota els Àngels Winery

Becoming a winemaker for a few hours and creating your own wine is the experience offered by Sota els Àngels, a biodynamic winery situated in the heart of the Baix Empordà countryside. Through a hands-on blending workshop, participants can discover first-hand how a wine’s character is developed and experiment with different grape varieties until they find their ideal combination.

The experience begins with a tasting of five single-varietal base wines and continues with various palate exercises before moving on to the creation of a personalised cuvée, always guided by the winery’s team. The workshop is rounded off with a selection of local produce and, as a souvenir, each participant can take home a bottle of their own creation.

Private tour of Finca Garbet and Celler Perelada

Few landscapes reflect the connection between wine and the Mediterranean as spectacularly as Finca Garbet. The private experience at Perelada begins with a tour of its vineyards – an amphitheatre-like layout facing the sea – and offers the chance to discover the unique characteristics of an estate shaped by its terrain and proximity to the coast.

During the visit, you’ll taste two of the estate’s signature wines, born of this landscape, before continuing on to Celler Perelada. The new winery, conceived with contemporary architecture and sustainability in mind and designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects RCR, offers an in-depth look at the estate’s winemaking philosophy and the process behind its wines. The tour culminates with a tasting of three wines that showcase the diversity and richness of the Empordà’s wine-growing region. The experience is designed for small groups of up to seven people.

The grape harvest opens the doors to the DO Empordà wineries

At the start of autumn, the grape harvest transforms the landscape of the Empordà and turns its wineries into the setting for one of the most special moments in the wine-growing calendar.

The DO Empordà Wine Route brings together wineries, accommodation providers, restaurants, activity organisers and cultural organisations, enabling visitors to discover the culture of wine in a region defined by the contrast between the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees.

During these weeks, numerous wineries organise participatory events that give visitors an insight into the grape harvest, traditional grape treading, the production of the first must, and the celebrations that traditionally mark the end of the harvest.

The 2026 programme kicked off on 22 August with the Grape Harvest Festival at Celler Hugas de Batlle. La Vinyeta is organising a family grape harvest and a dinner of bread with tomato on 12 September. Next up is ‘Hazte el Mosto’, organised by Empordàlia, on 12, 19 and 26 September; the Celler Brugarol Grape Harvest Festival on 11 and 12 September; and the ‘Vendimia a la Antigua’ (Traditional Grape Harvest) by Espelt Viticultors on 12 September. The programme will conclude on 17 October with ‘Aires de Vendimia’ in Perelada.

These activities offer the chance to share in the grape harvest, learn about the work that goes into every bottle of wine and rediscover traditional practices such as cutting the bunches, treading the grapes and preparing the must. Some events also feature community meals, locally sourced produce, live music and children’s activities, turning the grape harvest into a cultural and festive experience open to a wide range of people.
