TAP AIR PORTUGAL LAUNCHES A NEW DIRECT FLIGHT FROM PORTO TO THE ISLAND OF SAL

  • The Portuguese airline is launching a route connecting Porto directly with the island of Sal, in Cape Verde.

 

  • Porto now has seven intercontinental destinations served by direct flights operated by TAP.

TAP Air Portugal will connect Porto directly with the island of Sal, in Cape Verde. From 25 October, Porto will have a new intercontinental route operated by the Portuguese airline, which already connects the city with New York, Boston, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Luanda and Praia, as well as London, Paris, Zurich and Geneva as European destinations; and Terceira and Funchal as non-continental Portuguese destinations.

From 25 October, flights from Porto, operated using A320neo aircraft, will depart on Thursdays and Sundays at 20:50, arriving in Sal at 00:20. In the opposite direction, flights will depart from Sal on Fridays and Mondays at 01:20, arriving in Porto at 06:40. During the IATA summer season (29 March to 24 October), flights will depart from Porto on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 21:05, arriving at Amílcar Cabral International Airport at 01:35. In the opposite direction, flights will depart from the island of Sal on Thursdays and Sundays at 02:35, arriving in Porto at 06:55.

On 1 and 2 July, TAP also launched flights from Porto to the island of Terceira in the Azores and to the city of Praia in Cape Verde. TAP offers more than 130 direct flights a week from Porto to destinations around the world, including more than 20 weekly flights to seven intercontinental destinations: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, New York, Boston, Luanda, Praia and Sal, as well as London, Paris, Zurich and Geneva. Furthermore, the Porto–Boston route will no longer be seasonal and will operate all year round.
