- Since the end of March, coinciding with the start of the summer season, the airline has been operating 179 weekly flights between Portugal and 12 Spanish cities.
- The Portuguese airline is resuming flights to and from Alicante, Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza to mark the start of the summer season.
Looking ahead to the 2026 summer season, TAP Air Portugal will operate a total of 179 direct weekly flights between 12 Spanish cities and Lisbon, its main hub.
The summer schedule maintains the annual route network, to which Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza (both with 7 weekly flights), Alicante (with 6 weekly flights) and Menorca, which will have flights to Lisbon 5 days a week, are added.
The year-round scheduled routes that complete the Portuguese airline’s summer schedule operate to and from Madrid (49 weekly flights), Barcelona (42 weekly flights), Seville (17 weekly flights), Málaga (16 weekly flights), Valencia (15 weekly flights), Bilbao (7 weekly flights), Gran Canaria (4 weekly flights) and Tenerife (4 weekly flights). At these two Canary Islands airports, thePortuguese airline is the only scheduled direct service between Lisbon and Tenerife South Airport and Gran Canaria Airport, respectively.
In this way, TAP Air Portugal is strengthening its network of connections between Spain and its Lisbon hub and expanding connectivity not only between the two countries, but also enabling travellers from Spain to access the company’s extensive international network across Europe, North America, South America and Africa. Furthermore, thanks to this operation, the Portuguese airline is consolidating the Spanish market as one of the most important for the company within Europe.
According to Paloma Utrera, Market Manager for Spain and France at TAP Air Portugal: “With this schedule for the 2026 spring-summer season, we are strengthening and increasing connectivity between Spain and Lisbon, facilitating both travel between the two countries and access for Spanish travellers to our international network via our robust hub in Lisbon.”
Curitiba, the new star destination for this summer
In addition to the increased service in Spain, TAP has announced further new developments for the 2026 summer season. Among these, the new direct route between Lisbon and Curitiba stands out; it will commence on 2 July 2026, with three weekly flights operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
This new connection opens a direct route to the capital of the state of Paraná, a destination of great interest to both business travellers and tourists, known for its focus on sustainability, its innovative urban planning and its vibrant cultural life. Considered one of Brazil’s most modern cities, Curitiba stands out for its cosmopolitan atmosphere, as well as its wide range of cultural, gastronomic and event offerings.
In addition, this summer TAP is increasing its frequencies to Porto Alegre, adding a fourth weekly service between Lisbon and southern Brazil. These new options further expand connectivity for travellers from Spain to Brazil, offering more opportunities to explore the country.
