The Diploma Course is designed to train professionals capable of analysing, designing and implementing innovative and sustainable tourism strategies, responding to the sector’s current dynamics and the challenges of territorial development. The programme places particular emphasis on understanding emerging trends in tourism, incorporating innovation into products and management models, and strengthening community-based tourism as a tool for inclusive and participatory development. Throughout the course, the diploma programme enables participants to analyse global tourism trends and their impact on destinations and organisations, apply innovation tools to tourism services, design community-based tourism initiatives with a social focus, and integrate criteria relating to sustainability, digitalisation and governance into tourism planning. It also strengthens skills for managing tourism projects in both local and global contexts.
The programme is aimed at professionals in the tourism sector, civil servants involved in tourism and local development, tourism entrepreneurs, consultants and spatial planners, community leaders, local project managers, as well as lecturers and researchers in the field. A specific background in tourism is not required, although experience or a professional interest in the sector is essential.
