The Hong Kong-born five-star airline specialises in connecting travellers from all over the world to their favourite destinations in the Asia-Pacific region. With a seventy-seven-year history, it is a founding member of the oneworld alliance and is considered one of the world’s best airlines.

Cathay Pacific currently operates the only direct route between Spain and Hong Kong, with a frequency of three return flights a week from Madrid – all on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays – and has recently announced the revival of the route from Barcelona, also non-stop, from 17 June, with a further three return flights a week – Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. In addition, thanks to its extensive Asia-Pacific network, it serves as a gateway to many other destinations, including mainland China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and the Philippines. Through its hub at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), it is possible to connect with total convenience and very short waiting times.

The airline operates this route with its fleet of state-of-the-art Airbus A350s. Quieter, more efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft, built with advanced materials such as carbon fibre and powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, offer 25% more economical performance than other wide-body aircraft. The company has succeeded in creating an enhanced travel environment that combines high-quality materials, advanced ergonomics and nature-inspired aesthetics.

Cathay Pacific’s great differentiator is its special attention to detail and customer experience, from the travel search process to, of course, the flight experience itself, as well as the arrival at the destination or the stay at the airport. In this sense, Business Class is its flagship product and the most valued by its users, which has led it to win several awards for its long-haul Business service. It offers amenities and benefits unique in the industry, such as specially ergonomically designed seats, designed by the prestigious Studio F.A. Porsche brand, fully reclining horizontally to become 2.08 m long beds -among the largest on the market- with bedding and equipment for maximum comfort courtesy of the Bamford brand. Business Class is configured with a 1-2-1 cabin structure, allowing passengers to maintain privacy and a greater sense of spaciousness. It is also worth noting that the Premium Economy Class also offers extensive benefits, such as more reclining space and comfortable, ergonomic seats specially designed for greater comfort and relaxation during the journey, as well as multiple extra services in terms of in-flight meals, entertainment and amenities.

Cathay Pacific adds exciting value by collaborating with world-renowned chefs and experts to design unique in-flight menu options, combining the best international cuisine with local flavours from Asia and Hong Kong. In this way, passengers have the opportunity to sample dishes created by Michelin Star restaurants, as well as a carefully selected range of international wines and beverages, including the exclusive Betsy Beer, a special beer created specifically for Cathay Pacific to enjoy at 10,000 metres above sea level.

It also offers passengers an exceptional in-flight entertainment experience and will be recognised in 2023 as the best airline in the world by SKYTRAX in this respect. With a carefully curated selection of over a thousand movie titles, including the latest Hollywood releases and Asian cinema classics, as well as the best TV shows, albums, podcasts and games, passengers can enjoy a wide range of entertainment options. In addition, as the first Asian operator to offer HBO Max, Disney+ or SPORT 24 on board, Cathay Pacific offers more than 200 hours of content, including the world’s biggest hits and major live sporting events. To further enhance the experience, the airline has introduced the latest 4K quality content and Bluetooth headset pairing functionality across its fleet, with the aim of providing travellers with an even more complete and immersive entertainment experience.

In addition to this wide selection of entertainment, Cathay Pacific also offers its passengers the possibility to connect to the internet on board via their mobile phones, making it possible to send and receive messages during the flight. Passengers can also find additional destination information, travel and lifestyle content in the Cathay in-flight magazine. The airline thus carries out its commitment to provide its customers with an exceptional and differential flight experience, with a warm and close treatment and a special attention to detail.

Finally, Cathay Pacific also offers its passengers the most spacious and luxurious lounges, some of which have been awarded for their design, especially designed for Business Class and Cathay Loyalty Programme passengers who need to rest or work during stopover hours at the airport. The airline recently opened its first lounge in a cruise terminal, in this case at Shekou Port in Shenzhen, China, offering an even more complete travel experience for customers travelling from the Greater Bay Area (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao) by ferry to connect with Cathay Pacific flights at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).
