  • The master rice chef and culinary evangelist is set to take centre stage at the restaurant within this exclusive resort, headlining one of the year’s most exclusive collaborations.

  • On 30 July, he will be cooking at Mar de Sazzon, preparing the signature rice dishes for a once-in-a-lifetime menu (€42 per person, €59 with caviar), featuring three starters and two exquisite rice dishes, including the ‘Clandestino’, a secret recipe.

Summer is not defined solely by a geographical destination, but by that succession of extraordinary moments etched into the memory through the senses, where haute cuisine acts as the common thread running through perfect days. Guided by this philosophy, Laguna Beach, the unique resort situated in the heart of Playa Padrón (between Marbella and Sotogrande), kicks off the season with one of the most surprising and exclusive culinary collaborations of the year: the arrival of the revolutionary rice chef Edu Torres, owner of the renowned Molino Roca, on 30 July at Mar de Sazzon, Laguna Beach’s most gourmet restaurant.

Torres will be cooking at Mar de Sazzon to offer a special menu exclusively on 30 July (€42 per person, €59 per person with caviar), in which the stars of the show are, naturally, two rice dishes created by him. These are the lamb chop and kidney rice dish and the Arroz Clandestino 2026, a ‘secret’ recipe. Both dishes pay tribute to the famous gatherings that Torres organises annually at La Albufera in Valencia with rice growers, farmers and Michelin-starred chefs. In addition, the menu includes three starters from Mar de Sazzon: goat’s milk salchichón, avocado stuffed with bluefin tuna and garlic carpaccio. The menu will only be available, subject to prior booking, for lunch on that day, specifically at two sittings: at 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm.

Edu Torres embodies the pure energy of a family dedicated to rice since 1903. From Molino Roca, he has succeeded in transforming a century-old legacy into a modern, emotional and deeply technical way of explaining the culture of paella. His work goes far beyond traditional cooking: he educates, inspires and connects, turning every cooking demonstration into an immersive experience where fire, produce, the farmer, the chef and the audience come together. In his own words: “Paella isn’t cooked to impress; it’s cooked to bring people together around the fire and create memories that last a lifetime.”

With a direct, authentic and passionate approach, in his role as a culinary ambassador he argues that paella is much more than a recipe; it is a universal language, a way of bringing people together, telling the story of the land and bringing the essence of Spain to the world. His approach, rooted in absolute respect for the farmer, meticulous knowledge of the rice and precise cooking techniques, debunks myths and challenges dogmas, demonstrating that a good paella stems from the perfect balance between memory, precision and emotion.

This passion for sharing his craft has led Edu Torres to turn every trip into a genuine international mission, making his mark on the culinary scenes in Quito, Turkey, Argentina, Slovenia and Italy. Particularly in the United States, in key cities such as Atlanta and New York, the Valencian paella chef has demonstrated that paella does not need to be disguised to win over an international audience; it simply requires quality ingredients, culinary skill, authenticity and a well-told story. This interest and constant learning have also led him to take part in culinary reality TV shows and even documentaries.

True to his philosophy, the renowned paella chef is now bringing his revolutionary expertise to Mar de Sazzon, crowning the culinary offering at Laguna Beach, one of the most sought-after destinations of the moment.
