After thirty years of making the most exclusive and unforgettable experiences possible, NUBA has once again surprised us with a proposal in which art, wellbeing and gastronomy are the protagonists, but not as simple complements, but as fundamental pieces that shape the experience itself.

Following the latest trends and with the collaboration of experts in fields ranging from art and architecture to science, gastronomy and nature as a wellness environment, Shapes by NUBA redefines tailor-made travel experiences by framing them in a central concept.

With the aim of breaking down the world into its purest essence through simple forms, this attractive initiative offers the possibility of enjoying art, wellbeing and gastronomy exclusively, making them the cornerstone of an integral and complex experience.

Art Experiences, the solidity of the square as a blank canvas

No one better than Christo Javacheff, a Bulgarian artist associated with Land Art, to define the capacity of art as a tool to connect us with the world, something he did with this poetic phrase: “The work of art is a cry for freedom“.

The first of the three vertices is an intersection of different artistic disciplines that takes us on a shared journey through Spain through unique experiences to explore our emotions. The Home of Art: Donostia’s Farmhouses first takes us to the Chillida Leku Museum in the Zabalaga farmhouse. Home, workshop and meeting place of the artist from San Sebastian, it is the centre of absolute creation in the Basque and international artistic sphere. The next stop is the Caserío Aitzeterdi, home and studio of the painter Juan Luís Goenaga, whose spaces he shared with artists such as Chillida and Oteiza, with whom he held lunches and dinners around the large wooden table.

From Euskadi to Galicia to discover MOP Fundación, a black and white space, an organisation that works on three pillars: A Coruña, photography and fashion, which have their setting in an industrial space located in the port area of the city, transformed by the architect Elsa Urquijo. The first stop is at La Nave, an exhibition space where you can admire the works of Helmut Newton, before continuing the visit to Los Silos, open and public workspaces for the Foundation.

The Spanish capital welcomes us with four attractive proposals. In the world-famous Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, home to one of the richest and most varied collections of Western painting, Los Pantones del Thyssen Bornemisza is a meeting of art and sound in which the works of art merge with the musical piece composed exclusively by Bang& Olufsen for Shapes by NUBA. A hyper-personalised experience and a guided tour with an art historian complete this first proposal. To visit the Marlborough Gallery is to enter a world of dazzling creativity. We will discover The Warehouse. Marlborough Gallery with the director of Marlborough in Spain as cicerone to admire large format works, creative processes, preventive conservation and a walk through the CAPA Foundation; we will enjoy an unforgettable moment in the company of David Rodríguez Caballero, artist of the gallery, to learn the most intimate details of the artist in his workspace, accompanied by a wine and an aperitif.

Artistic and scientific heritage. Site specific La Isla consists of a visit with its founder, Lucía Mendoza, to discover the essence and basis of site specific art, taking a tour to get to know her works. It is rounded off with a dance performance at dusk with the performance art group Menhir and a meeting with champagne around an oak tree with the company of the artist Juan Zamora.

The House of Alba has an incalculable cultural heritage, including the only autograph letters of Christopher Columbus in private hands, and this is the subject of the following experience, Palacio de Liria. The tradition of the future, which will take visitors from the Admiral’s voyage to the conquest of space. The exhibition A New World explores humanity’s unwavering curiosity and desire to transcend established boundaries through more than twenty sculptures by Mexican artist Denise de la Rue, inspired by artefacts and objects that have been present on NASA missions, as well as a series of recreations of meteorites, on which the artist establishes a dialogue and superimposes excerpts from the aforementioned Columbus letters and documents from the Apolo Missions. The exhibition is completed with artistic replicas of objects from the NASA collection and of the pilot Buzz Aldrin, the astronaut who took part in the first trip to the moon in 1969.

Andalusia is also present in this emotional journey with the Montenmedio Foundation with James Turrell and a contemporary dance piece designed exclusively for NUBA. Starting with the work Second Wind, we will appreciate the magnificent spatial vision of the emblematic artist James Turrell and we will enter a space marked by sensations, light and colour. A masterpiece that serves as a stage for the contemporary dance performance created by the choreographer Mar Aguiló.

We will not leave the magical south without experiencing La Alhambra: the beauty of the eternal. One of the most beautiful images we can admire in Spain is undoubtedly the Alhambra in Granada. The bare walls, devoid of any decoration, are the prelude to a series of buildings of subtle architecture and delicate decoration. Residences of the ancient Nasrid sultans and their court, this experience includes a visit with a specialised guide to the Sala del Mexuar, the Palacio de los Comares and the Patio de los Leones, and ends with a tiled ceramics workshop, the perfection of Nasrid art.

The Mediterranean awaits us to dazzle us with El Cruce de los Sentidos: Todolí Citrus Fundació – Valencia. We will visit the foundation’s botanical orchard and enjoy a tasting of its citrus fruits, picked on the spot. This experience offers two options, to attend a colloquium with Vicente Todolí, creator of the foundation, and the renowned landscape painter Eduardo Barbá on the place of citrus fruits in the history of art, as well as their influence on gastronomy and the economy over the centuries. Or attend a creative photography workshop on the presence of citrus fruits in still life, in which each participant will be able to create their own still life and photograph it digitally on the spot. Your photograph will be certified by the Todolí Citrus Fundació, by the photographer who will give the workshop and by NUBA.

The Palau de Casavells experience, Live Art will bring us closer to the Catalan Empordà. A 14th century palace where contemporary art shares space with antiques and furniture from the last century is the setting for this new proposal. We will discover the structure of the building and visit the gardens and some rooms that are not normally open to the public. The proposal is completed by meeting the artist at his residence in the Palau in the middle of the creative process, the studio, located in a marvellous setting in the Catalan countryside, an industrial building where he works and a private flat in the centre of La Bisbal.

Gastronomy Experience, a journey narrated through flavours

Shapes by NUBA offers the possibility of exploring the world through its flavours and appreciating the nuances that make each space unique. A culinary journey that begins in the countryside, in the garden or the sea and culminates in a spectacle of flavours and textures.

Experiences at El Cenador de Amos by the renowned chef Jesús Sánchez where we will discover Spanish culture and cuisine through a contemporary culinary proposal of the highest quality, as well as its products and producers and we will accompany you in the preparation of an exclusive menu.

Amos's Dinner Restaurant

At Bodegas Macán, with a private visit and a special tasting where you will taste selected labels uncorked exclusively for NUBA. And the Almadraba, a thousand-year-old tuna fishing technique in the south of Spain and one of the most sustainable and spectacular in the world. This proposal consists of a tuna ronqueo course, a meticulous process of cutting all the pieces for maximum use and consumption, culminating in a delicious tasting.
